During the harvest season in the Araponga mountains, a ritual takes place at dusk.
Among the shadows of the coffee plantation and the silence of the forest, the jacus—free birds of the forest—choose and feed only on the ripest and sweetest fruits of the day. After their passage through the plantation, a patient search begins.
Walking among the rows of coffee, we find small treasures left by these birds.
Grains that have undergone a natural and rare process, guided by nature itself. After being carefully collected, the beans go through a rigorous process of sanitization, drying, and roasting, revealing a coffee with a unique profile: delicate, complex, and surprisingly elegant. This harvest, this coffee also carries another story. Women from the region have begun to participate in this harvest, transforming what was once just curiosity into an opportunity for income and collaboration.
The name Penelope Majestic comes from the scientific name of the jacu bird — Penelope obscura — and pays homage to this bird that silently selects the best fruits from the crop.
A rare coffee that unites nature, community, and discovery.
